Doug is a founding partner of Capital West, and has been in the corporate finance industry since the late 70’s. Prior to starting the firm, he worked in London, England, as the Managing Director of Pemberton Securities’ European operations and later as Executive Vice-President and Director of Midland Walwyn Capital where he was in charge of institutional sales and trading.
Doug’s outstanding track record, professionalism, and dedication to clients, have earned him an excellent reputation in the business community. Doug obtained his B.A. from York University in Toronto, Ontario, and his MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business.

Prior to joining Capital West Partners, Andrew spent six years with the professional services firm of Deloitte, where he was a manager in the assurance and advisory practice.

Paul has over 25 years of investment banking / mergers & acquisitions experience, and he focused exclusively on mid-market M&A for over 15 years. Previously he was with CIBC Capital Markets in both Vancouver and Calgary as Managing Director in Investment Banking, and with Morgan Stanley and Citibank in London, England.
Paul has completed transactions totaling over $10 billion in value, including numerous acquisitions and divestitures, equity and debt financings, and corporate restructuring assignments across a wide range of industries for public and private companies in Western Canada.
Paul obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree, with honours, from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Since joining Capital West Partners in 2010, Nick has worked on numerous deals with a broad range of clients, including businesses in the industrial services, technology, retail and transportation sectors. He has extensive experience working on sale transactions, financings and acquisition advisory assignments.
Prior to Capital West, Nick spent four years at KPMG where he obtained his Chartered Professional Accountant designation. In addition to being a CPA, Nick is a Chartered Business Valuator and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.
Nick completed the Family Enterprise Advisor program in 2019, through the Family Enterprise Xchange. As Capital West advises many family-operated businesses, this designation provides additional resources and perspective to help Nick better assist clients.

Michael joined Capital West Partners in 2011 and since then has advised clients across a wide range of industries on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, financings and divestitures.
Prior to Capital West, Michael worked in the Corporate Finance Group at KPMG, where he performed business valuations, M&A advisory engagements and assurance services for mid-market private and public companies.
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. He graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Chris joined Capital West in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, he spent four years working with J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking practice in Calgary where he was directly involved in successfully executing over $10bn in M&A and strategic financing mandates in Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, and Energy. Chris also has four years of experience working with National Bank’s equity research team in Calgary covering public and private companies within the Energy space.
Chris is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University.

Roneil joined Capital West in 2018. His corporate finance experience includes over a year with a national M&A advisory firm where he worked on a number of buy and sell side M&A advisory and due diligence engagements. Prior to that, he spent four years with PwC’s audit practice, providing assurance services to private mid-market clients across a broad range of industries.
Roneil is a Chartered Professional Accountant and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts, concentrating in Economics and the University of British Columbia with a Diploma in Accounting. He is currently pursuing the Chartered Business Valuator designation.

Alexandra joined Capital West as an Associate in 2024 and brings with her over three years of M&A and finance experience. Prior to joining Capital West, Alexandra was part of the Corporate Finance team in Goodbody Stockbrokers, a full-service Investment Bank based in Dublin, Ireland. During this role and her roles at Investec and Capnua, Alexandra worked on a number of public and private M&A and equity financing transactions across a range of industries including real estate, manufacturing, building materials, consumer products, healthcare and technology.
Alexandra holds a Masters in Finance from UCD Smurfit Business School and is a graduate of University College Dublin and University of New South Wales, Sydney where she received an International Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Politics.

Ariel is an Associate and the Marketing Manager at Capital West. She joined Capital West in 2019 and is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. Ariel also leads Capital West’s firm-wide marketing and corporate branding initiatives in her role as Marketing Manager.

Andrea brings over three years of marketing and administrative experience from Belfast, Edinburgh, and Vancouver. She is a graduate of International Business Management and Spanish from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh and holds specialist diplomas in economics and leadership from ICADE Business School in Madrid, Spain and The Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.

Jamie is a Mechanical Engineer with an MBA, a Chartered Professional Accountant, CMA and a retired Chartered Business Valuator. He serves, or has served, on several non profit and corporate boards.

Fred’s accomplishments were vast, yet it is his legacy of generosity, good humour, hard work, and family that will live on in all he touched.
Fred was a trusted and respected advisor, a wonderful mentor, and a great friend. He had an illustrious career in investment banking and was widely respected for his business acumen, leadership, and collegial approach. After starting his career at Nesbitt Thomson, he moved to Pemberton Securities where, as CEO, he was instrumental in building Pemberton into a leader in the industry. After the sale of Pemberton to Royal Bank, he founded Capital West Partners in 1990, where he once again built a market leader.
Fred’s knowledge and experience were immeasurable, and he was always willing to share that knowledge. He mentored so many of the team at Capital West, who will forever be grateful for his generosity and insights. Fred’s name and spirit will live on forever at Capital West. All of those who had a chance to work with Fred were truly fortunate.
